I have a strong commitment to helping others improve their life circumstances and how they perceive their self-worth. I believe that all people have the power to change and mold their situations into whatever they want them to be. Maximizing others potential by empowering and inspiring them to be their best through skill- building and intrinsic motivation are top priority to me. Community collaboration and engagement will always be a part of my plan of action for advocacy. I have over ten years working with children and families through programs like Jeffco Head Start. Jeffco Prosperity Partners and SafeCare Colorado.
I am currently pursing my bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Metropolitan State University. I am trained in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, protective factors, servant leadership and two generational model. I have contributed to Aspen Ascend Institute conferences, child support commission board, Preschool Advisory board, Chair of parent advisory board and civic engagement.
As a current graduate student with a background in teaching and mentoring in under-resourced communities, I was drawn to Field of Vision Counseling due to Marlon’s unique outlook on the world, passion for helping others, and broad therapeutic background. I believe that this group of individuals represents a diverse, knowledgeable, and thoughtful perspective that many individuals in Denver might be looking for. Especially in these difficult times, we wish to encourage everyone to explore counseling and to try to allow for vulnerability and positive progress in your life. I am a staunch advocate of self-exploration and growth, and I am extremely passionate about helping people learn, feel good, and find contentment. If you are looking to find something to improve your situation, we wish to build a true relationship with you, listen intently and intentionally, ask insightful questions, and utilize active change with interpersonal and community support to make a difference in your life. We are here for you. I will be bringing my background, skill, curiosity, and passion to this team as a business development associate and consultant. I look forward to working with you, and thank you for considering counseling.
